Indie Game Pc Games Early Access Free To PlayFrantic Software, an independent game studio based in Montreal, has announced its latest game, Powerplay, a classic real-time strategy (RTS) game with industrial automation and military strategy elements. In Powerplay, players will manage the economy and military strategy of an industrial nation, building, equipping, and deploying huge armies using the resources and technology they have developed.
The backbone of Powerplay is building efficient supply chains. Players will design and optimize networks of conveyor belts to transport raw materials to factories, where they are transformed into intermediate resources and weapons. Balancing resource allocation and space management will be a significant challenge.
Resource locality is also a critical feature of the game. There is no global inventory, and players must strategically extract, process, and transport resources to expand their base. Creating supply lines and protecting them is essential to maintaining control of the land.
Powerplay is a base-building RTS game, and it will be released for PC and Mac in Q2 2025. Frantic Software is a software development consultancy founded in 2018 in Montreal, and Powerplay will be its first indie title. The game will be available on Steam, and players can learn more about the game on the official website, YouTube channel, and Frantic Software's X page.
