Pc Games Free To Play Indie GameHeadware Games, a solo developer based in the UK, has released a free content update for its tech-noir survival horror game, Hollowbody. The update, titled 'Restoration', adds new puzzles, locations, and lore to the game, addressing player feedback regarding pacing and narrative beats. It further contextualizes Echo's place in the world and provides new information about the city's restoration efforts and subsequent downfall.
The update includes additional puzzle sections in High Street Part 1 and 2, as well as the Underground Station, and a new multi-stage puzzle spanning several locations. Four new small interior locations have also been added. The update also features layout and camera tweaks in High Street Part 1 and 2, a complete rework of cameras in the Underground Station, and performance optimizations for all exterior locations.
Additionally, the run speed has been increased in all exterior locations, the follow camera recentre time has been increased in all locations, and the pistol ammo drop rate has been tweaked. Five new achievements have been added, and several issues have been fixed, including an issue with shotgun ammo not being saved and an error where the makeshift axe was called a makeshift spear in the inventory status.
Hollowbody is now available for PC via Steam and GOG, and those with the game still on their wishlist can purchase it with a 10% discount until November 4 as part of Steam Scream Fest 2024.
