Pc Games Indie Game Mobile Gaming Early Access Strategy Free To Play Nintendo Switch Microsoft XboxExabyte Games, an indie studio founded in 2020, is releasing the Definitive Edition of their base-builder colony sim, Final Outpost, on the App Store and Google Play on June 12th, 2025. The game has already been successful on Steam, selling 7,500 copies and becoming a top-20 strategy game in several countries.
Final Outpost: Definitive Edition is a survival strategy base-builder where players lead the last survivors of the apocalypse. The game features individual-level role assignment and resource management at its core, allowing players to construct and upgrade buildings, grow their population, assign jobs, craft tools, research new skills, arm citizens, and build turrets to protect their settlement from zombie hordes.
The game was initially released on Steam on May 22nd, 2025, and received significant coverage from YouTubers such as Splattercat, Orbital Potato, Wanderbots, Nookrium, Angory Tom, and press outlets such as Gamespark, Gaming on Linux, and PocketGamer. The mobile version of the game has already become a top-20 strategy game in Japan, France, and Germany, with top-50 positions in many other countries, including the US and UK.
Exabyte Games is a two-brother indie studio that develops creative management games across PC, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android platforms. Following the release of the original Final Outpost in 2020, the team worked on a series of updates that transformed the game into a professional title. Final Outpost: Definitive Edition is an expansion of the survival strategy base-builder set in the zombie apocalypse. The game is available for purchase on the App Store and Google Play for $4.99.
