Windblown's Sanctuary Update: New Biome, Weapons, and Quality of Life Improvements

The independent studio Motion Twin has released a major update for its action roguelite game Windblown, which began its Early Access on Steam in October. The Sanctuary Update brings new content, improvements, and changes that enhance the gaming experience.

The Sanctuary Update offers a new biome, the Obsidian Sanctuary, located deeper in the Vortex. Players can explore unique areas, face a new boss and sentinels, and uncover the mysteries of this dangerous new biome, accompanied by new music from Danger. A new multi-step quest introduces Carlos, who provides information about the Arche's past and opens access to the Obsidian Sanctuary. Four new weapons and a new relic, Cronos Catch, offer new attacks, alterations, and critical hits, while a new skin, Obsidian, allows players to customize their characters.

The update also introduces a new system for retrieving lost Cogs, Memonites, and Encrypted Memories from the previous Expedition, and numerous improvements and new permanent upgrades. The cooperative mode's Revenge feature has been enhanced, and weapon modifications have been made, including to the Goo Brush and Shield.

Motion Twin values community feedback and has based this and future updates on player suggestions. Players can join the official Windblown Discord to contribute to the game's development. Windblown is available in Early Access on Steam, and players can visit the game's website for more information.
