The update includes unique, recognizable icons for each Glyph, which are designed to represent the category and purpose of each upgrade more closely.
Glyphs are categorized into five types: Offensive, Defensive, Utility, Riches, and Time Altering. They are further divided into three tiers based on risk, with Stat-based Glyphs offering subtle enhancements, Gameplay Altering Glyphs unlocking new abilities or evolving existing ones, and Two-edged Glyphs providing high-risk, high-reward perks.
Players can choose Glyphs that fit their playstyle and enhance their abilities. The Book of Aaru is an action-packed rogue-lite game set in a world where ancient Egypt has evolved beyond expectations, merging history, mythology, and advanced sci-fi technology. Players navigate through intricately hand-crafted trap corridors, each presenting a distinct challenge that demands a diverse set of skills, precise timing, and adaptable strategies.
The game features isometric action gameplay, unique trap sequences, randomly sorted levels, dual-wielding combat, active meta-progression, time-slowing mechanics, craftable power-ups, weapon classes, and devastating sandstorms. The Book of Aaru is set to release in Q1 2025, and it will be available for €19.99, $19.99, and £14.99. Amenti Studio, the developer, is a small startup that began in 2021 and has been working on The Book of Aaru since 2022.
