INTENSE Co., Ltd. has announced that their cooperative horror exploration game, UNDERWARD, will launch on February 5, 2025, on Steam for Windows at a price of $7.99. In UNDERWARD, 1 to 4 players assume the role of investigators tasked with finding and retrieving test subjects in a procedurally generated abandoned underground hospital filled with deadly traps and nurse monsters.

The game features permadeath mechanics and a unique Chained Carry System that allows multiple players to cooperate in transporting heavy bio-capsules for faster transport speeds. The Arachne Nurse Monster is one of the formidable nurse monsters players will encounter, with a massive body and debris-fortified limbs, requiring coordinated strategies to defeat.

UNDERWARD includes various features such as proximity voice chat, procedurally generated labyrinths, supply machine systems, persistent items, and permadeath mechanics. Players can team up with friends or venture alone, facing off against uniquely designed enemies and collecting rewards to exchange for randomized items.
