Gearbox Entertainment has announced the release of the second expansion for Risk of Rain 2, Seekers of the Storm, which is now available on various platforms. The expansion is priced at $14.99 and includes three new Survivors, five new stages, new items, mastery skins, and more.

The new Survivors include the support survivor, Seeker, the fan-favorite, Chef, and a surprise third survivor. Each Survivor has unique mechanics and playstyles. The new stages feature ancient Lemurian temples, crashing waterfalls, lush green canopies, and more. The expansion also includes unlockable mastery skins, new items, and three new monsters, two new Elite types, and a new endgame boss.

Seekers of the Storm is the first expansion to be primarily developed by Gearbox Entertainment following the acquisition of the Risk of Rain IP in Nov 2022. Risk of Rain 2 is a fast-paced, co-op roguelike shooter that allows players to team with up to three other friends, play as 14 unique Survivors, and trek through more than a dozen stages to escape the alien planet, Petrichor V. With unlockable alternate abilities, tons of items to discover on runs, and equippable Artifacts to shake up gameplay, no two runs are ever the same.

The expansion includes optimized versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, with 4K resolution at 30FPS or 1440p/1080p at 60FPS, brand-new couch co-op splitscreen, and new visual and audio effects via the DualSense Controller. Players who already own the game on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One can upgrade to the optimized version for free.
