Pc Games Indie GameThe independent studios Hologryph and TowerHaus, along with publisher tinyBuild, have revealed the first gameplay trailer for SAND, their open-world PvPvE extraction shooter, during the tinyBuild Connect showcase. The game, set in an alternate timeline where the Austro-Hungarian Empire led space colonization in the 19th century, takes place on the planet Sophie, a desert wasteland that was once home to oceans, now gone due to an ecological disaster. Players take on the role of scavengers, exploring, fighting, and looting in this harsh environment, either solo or in teams.
SAND features giant diesel-punk mechas called Tramplers, which serve as both a means of transportation and a mobile base for players. The game combines PvP and PvE elements, with players fighting both each other and the local wildlife for resources and loot. The game's extraction-based gameplay is emergent, with no two games being the same, as players must adapt to the loot they find and the actions of other players.
The game's key features include the ability to customize and upgrade your Trampler, intense combat mechanics, a dynamic and ever-changing open world, and a unique setting that draws from the rich cultural heritage of Ukraine. SAND is being developed by a Ukrainian team based in Lviv and is set to release in the near future. Interested players can add the game to their Steam wishlist and sign up for upcoming playtests.
