Railroads Online, a sandbox railway simulation game developed by Stefan Kelnberger and published by astragon Entertainment, is set to launch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S later this year while exiting Steam Early Access. The Locomotive Showcase trailer provides an in-depth look at the steam engines in the game, which are based on authentic models from the golden era of steam locomotives in the United States, from the 1870s to the early 1900s. The game features over 20 locomotives, including the Montezuma, Baldwin steam engines, Class 125, and the iconic "Betsy." The development team uses specialist magazines, preserved documents, and surviving models in North American museums to recreate these locomotives as faithfully as possible.

In celebration of the game's third anniversary, the Anniversary Update is now available and includes an in-game chat for better communication between players, a redesigned user interface, new camera perspectives, and loading options. Railroads Online will be released digitally this autumn for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S at a price of 39.99€ / $39.99 USD (SRP) or a regional equivalent. A retail version will be released for PlayStation 5 later. As a thank you for the support during the Early Access phase, all railway pioneers who purchase the game in Steam Early Access will receive the Pioneer DLC for free upon the full release.

Railroads Online is already available on Steam Early Access for PC, and the full release will cost 34.99€ / $34.99 USD (SRP). The game uses the advanced physics systems of the Unreal Engine to create the most authentic railroad simulation possible, rendering collisions and forces dynamically in real time for maximum immersion. Features include an open sandbox game world, online multiplayer mode with up to 16 players, building railroad infrastructure, authentic locomotives and equipment, realistic railroad physics, earning money by transporting goods, and customizable locomotives.
