Bloober Team, a Poland-based game developer known for its horror games, has released an extended gameplay video for its upcoming title, "Cronos: The New Dawn." The video showcases the game's intense combat, survival mechanics, and unique enemies, including the formidable boss, Terror. Set in a dystopian future and 1980s Poland, players follow the Traveler, an agent of the Collective, who journeys back in time to extract individuals before they perish in the apocalypse.
The game features two distinct environments: Islands in The Mist and The Hospital. In Islands in The Mist, players navigate a mysterious, fog-drenched space filled with danger, while The Hospital offers a claustrophobic descent into a nightmarish labyrinth. The game's "Merge" mechanic allows fallen enemies to be absorbed by nearby ones, creating more formidable abominations. Players must navigate two time periods, the decaying future and 1980s Poland, to survive.
"Cronos: The New Dawn" is set for release in Fall 2025 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam and Epic. Bloober Team, founded in 2008, has received widespread acclaim for its award-winning portfolio, including the Layers of Fear series, Blair Witch, Observer: System Redux, and The Medium. The studio's most recent project, a remake of the iconic horror game SILENT HILL 2, has earned numerous nominations and awards, including Game of the Year at the Horror Game Awards and Best Game of 2024 by IGN Japan.
