Prisma: A JRPG of Perspective and Magical Realism in Domacon

Dreams Uncorporated, a game development company with over 12 years of experience, has announced its latest JRPG, Prisma. The game is a single-player, turn-based JRPG that tells the story of Alma, a journalist who finds herself in a strange world after being transported by a magical Prism Shard. In this Latin American-inspired world called Domacon, magical realism is a part of everyday life, and Alma uses her camera to see the true nature of the world.

In Domacon, Alma meets other versions of herself from different universes, who may become allies or rivals. The player's decisions shape Alma's experiences and possibilities in this world. Players can form parties with different Almas, who will try to align the player's opinion with their viewpoints. Each decision made will make the bond stronger, allowing for unique conversation options, new combo moves, story branches, and side quests.

Alma views combat through the lenses of her camera, with each lens changing the perspective of the world and altering the attacks. Each Alma has their own set of skills, and by using the Prism Shards, they can be leveled up, gaining or removing abilities. Enemies throughout Domacon are inspired by Latin American folklore.

Prisma is expected to launch in 2026 for PC and consoles. Dreams Uncorporated has a history of creating innovative designs, inspiring 2D art styles, and traditional animation, with titles including the award-nominated Cris Tales, Haimrik, and Story Warriors: Fairy Tales.
