NetEase Games has announced the release of the free-to-play post-apocalyptic open-world survival game, Once Human, developed by Starry Studio. The game is now available on Steam, Epic Games Store, and the Once Human official website. Once Human was one of the most wishlisted games on Steam and the most played demo during the recent Steam Next Fest.

Once Human is set in a post-apocalyptic world after a mysterious extraterrestrial substance, Stardust, contaminates the Earth. Players, known as Metas, must join forces with other survivors to fight for survival and uncover the truth behind the ongoing cosmic invasion. The game features a vast open world with five regions, five factions, and over fifty types of deviants across more than one hundred strongholds.

The game offers top-tier visuals and cutting-edge 3D technologies, including dynamic weather and ray tracing. Players can explore the world, build sanctuaries, and capture deviations to assist in their survival. The open world supports up to 4000 players, allowing for real-time influence on the game world as players form alliances or wage war on others.

Once Human offers a main storyline, diverse regions, side quests, and deviations. The main storyline progresses to the "Blackheart" region, where players will encounter new enemies and uncover more secrets of the apocalypse. A new PvP mode, Highway Pursuit, offers special reward-vehicles for attacking players.

Pre-registered and new players can earn a variety of rewards, including cosmetic items and accessories. The game's official website, Steam page, Twitter, Facebook, and Discord channels are now live, providing more information about the game. NetEase Games, the online games division of NetEase, Inc., developed and published Once Human, which is now available for download.
