Games for Change Announces 2025 Award Winners: Celebrating Impactful Games and Innovative Storytelling

Games for Change (G4C), a leading nonprofit organization encouraging social impact through games and immersive media, announced the winners of the 2025 G4C Awards at the 2025 Games for Change Festival. The winners were selected from nearly 800 submissions from 55 countries. The live-streamed ceremony was hosted by Kahlief Adams, creator and host of the Spawn on Me podcast.

The awards recognized various categories, such as Best Narrative, Best in Environmental Impact, Best in Health & Wellness, Best in Impact, Best in Civics, Best in Innovation, Best in Learning, Best in XR, Best Gameplay, Best Platform-Based Project, Best Student Project, Best Board or Tabletop Game for Impact, Accessibility Award, and Indie Breakout Award.

Some notable winners include "Indika" for Best Narrative & Game of the Year, "Crab God" for Best in Environmental Impact, "Vampire Therapist" for Best in Health & Wellness, "Umfeld [social environment]" for Best in Impact, and "Kingdom of Rizia" for Best in Civics.

In addition to the category awards, G4C celebrated seven special award winners for their exceptional contributions to advancing positive change in the industry:

1. G4C Vanguard Award: Dr. Rachel Kowert for her work at the intersection of psychology, gaming, and mental health.
2. Industry Leadership Award: PRELOADED for 25 years of creating meaningful interactive experiences.
3. G4C Giving Award: Amir Satvat for his leadership in supporting gaming professionals affected by industry layoffs.
4. G4C Hall of Change: Asi Burak for two decades of dedication to advancing impact games.
5. International Leadership Award: Gilson Schwartz, President of the G4C Latin America chapter, for supporting the global Games for Change movement.

Games for Change has been empowering game creators and innovators to drive real-world change since 2004, partnering with various organizations, foundations, and government agencies to run world-class events, public arcades, design challenges, and youth programs. G4C supports a global community of game developers using games to tackle real-world challenges.
