NetEase Games has announced the launch of a new scenario, "The Way of Winter," for its online game Once Human. This update is the largest one since the game's launch and introduces a new hardcore multiplayer survival mode in the polar north. The new scenario takes place on a brand-new map, Nalcott, where players will face new challenges related to temperature, a crucial survival mechanic.

"The Way of Winter" is divided into four main playing stages and a season break, offering new content, enemies, and gameplay mechanics. Players will have to prepare for extreme cold and hot climates, craft heat-resistant gear, and grow unique crops for warmth. Co-op players can survive longer with the new Thermal Tower building, which provides various bonuses and buffs.

The new map is massive, with new starting points, strongholds, and mysteries to discover. The environment is filled with new Deviants, living machines, and a new boss monster, The Secret Servitor. The Vultures, a new villainous army, also seeks to control the living machines, and players must attack their lands and defeat the terrifying foes within.

Once Human now supports Russian, Portuguese (Brazil), and Spanish (Latin-America) languages. Players can earn exclusive cosmetic rewards by logging in during the "The Way of Winter" scenario and watching the game's Twitch category's live stream. NetEase Games is a leading global developer and publisher of video game IP, with popular titles such as Knives Out, Harry Potter: Magic Awakened, and Naraka: Bladepoint.
