Pc Games Role Playing Game Free To Play Early Access Indie Game Action Game

Frost Giant Studios, founded by real-time strategy (RTS) veterans Tim Morten and Tim Campbell, has announced the release of Stormgate: Campaign One - Ashes of Earth. The game, which was inspired by Blizzard Entertainment's Warcraft and StarCraft, will be available on Steam as of August 5, 2025. The Ashes of Earth campaign tells the story of the Vanguard faction and features an all-star voice cast, including actors like Simu Liu, Tara Strong, Matt Mercer, and Rosanna Pansino, as well as RTS voice acting legends Bill Roper and Chris Metzen.

Stormgate offers three asymmetric factions for players to master: the Vanguard, the Infernal Host, and the Celestial Armada. The game utilizes SnowPlay technology, which layers onto Unreal Engine 5 to create the most powerful RTS engine to date, complete with Rollback netcode to minimize latency in multiplayer matches. The game also includes player-friendly improvements, such as customizable hotkeys, unique AI skirmish opponents, and BuddyBot, an optional in-game helper.

Sigma Labs, Stormgate's in-game experimental playground, allows players to test out new features like three-player Co-op Missions and the Terrain Editor Alpha, a user-generated content (UGC) toolset. The game's August 5 launch is just the beginning, with major updates and features, including the much-anticipated 3v3 Team Mayhem mode, still to come.
