Pc Games Indie Game Action Game Role Playing Game Early AccessMullet MadJack, a retro FPS game with roguelite elements, is set to release on Steam on May 15, 2024. Developed by Hammer95 Studios and published by Epopeia Games, the game is a tribute to classic 90s anime and FPS games. The player takes on the role of a police officer with a mullet, fighting against a horde of billionaire robots in a cyberpunk world set in the 2090s.
The game features dynamic combat, a campaign mode, and a survival mode. The player must navigate through floors of a skyscraper, overcoming robots and completing ultraviolent finishes to progress. The game's visual style is inspired by the aesthetics of violent and adult anime from the era of VHS tapes, with contrasting colors of black and vibrant neon. The soundtrack is inspired by the synthwave genre, setting the tone for the urban atmosphere of the game.
Mullet MadJack allows the player to enhance their character with upgrades, affecting how the game is played in the best Rogue-Lite style. The game will be available in English, Portuguese, Spanish, Korean, Russian, and Japanese. Hammer95 Studios is a collective of three developers who are fans of the aesthetic of old anime, and Epopeia Games is responsible for other award-nominated games.
