TRINAC Studio, a Brazilian indie game developer, has released the Early Access version of Blendkins, a game that combines Pokémon-style visuals with a critical narrative about wildlife trafficking. The game is now available on Itch.io and will soon be on Steam. Blendkins allows players to experience the harsh reality of poaching and purchasing exotic pets. The cute aesthetic contrasts with the dark themes to encourage reflection and awareness about the environmental impact of wildlife trade.

The Early Access version features multiple habitats, three unique Blendkins creatures, and a consequence system. Future updates will introduce more animals, hunting mechanics, and visual improvements. Caique Ferreira, the game's director, stated that Blendkins aims to entertain while raising awareness about the issue.

Blendkins has garnered attention for its unique approach to digital activism. The game is supported by the Catavento Museum and the Freeland Foundation. Itch.io (Early Access) and Steam (Coming Soon) are the platforms where gamers can access Blendkins.

TRINAC Studio, founded by a group of Brazilians, aims to create games that entertain and spark important conversations. Blendkins is their first commercial project, focusing on changing perceptions through immersive storytelling and humor. The studio believes in games as tools for reflection and hopes to make a difference in the way people view wildlife trafficking.
