The independent developer Peng has announced that the precision 2D platformer game, MOMIBOSU, will be released on Steam on January 16, 2025, for $12.99 (USD) and compatible with Windows. The game features a boy and girl from an underground village who face dangerous dungeons and terrifying enemies while striving for a new land.

MOMIBOSU offers a challenging gameplay experience that encourages players to keep trying with quick retries and minimal stress from game overs. The game introduces unique mechanics in each stage, such as colliding enemies with each other in the first stage. It also features a Metroidvania-style expansive map for exploration and collecting upgrade items.

The game includes numerous boss characters, including humans and monsters, with distinct characteristics, making finding strategies to defeat them enjoyable. Players can navigate the game world with ease using the highly flexible action, which allows for free dashes in eight directions and utilizing the momentum from attacks for quick movement.

MOMIBOSU offers a road movie-like story with various encounters and farewells with different characters. Players can choose the artwork for the characters between "line art" and "pixel art" in conversation scenes. The game offers a speed adjustment mode to reduce the difficulty, aiming for "a game anyone can play."

MOMIBOSU is well-suited for speedrunning, and the developer welcomes challenges from RTA runners. A demo is currently available on Steam for a limited time until November 10, 2024. The official website and SNS are also available for more information.
