Pc Games Indie Game Role Playing Game Early Access68k Studios, an independent Italian game developer, has announced the release of its new game, Ludus Mortis. This First Person Dungeon Crawler RPG is set in a dark-fantasy version of the Roman Empire during the 4th century AD, and is now available for Windows and Linux on Steam and GOG.com with a 15% launch discount.
The game takes place in a Rome ruled by a corrupt Senate, which has turned to necromancy to increase their power and create an army of undead and demons. The Senate's actions have caused a rift in the Roman population, leading to chaos and the takeover of the city by the undead. In this climate, a gladiatorial school continues to train soldiers to fight against the invaders and restore Rome to its former glory.
Ludus Mortis is a grid-based, party-based RPG with turn-based combat, inspired by classic cRPGs from the 80s and 90s. Players can create characters from 14 classes, manage and develop their gladiator school, explore over 20 catacombs with puzzles, traps and enemies, and manage their party's formation, equipment and skills. The game also offers randomly-generated dungeons for added challenge.
The game has been Steam Deck Verified and received positive reviews during its Early Access phase. The full release offers a complete RPG experience, with the game available on Steam and GOG. More information can be found on the developer's website and Discord server.
