The Kickstarter campaign for "Fallen London: The Roleplaying Game" has surpassed expectations by raising over $600,000 in the first two days. The tabletop roleplaying game, developed by Magpie Games in collaboration with Failbetter Games, is based on the popular interactive fiction web game, Fallen London. The campaign has already unlocked 13 stretch goals, with more to come before it ends on March 13th, 2025.

Fallen London has grown significantly since its release in 2009, expanding from a few thousand words to 4.5 million words with multiple spin-offs. The roleplaying game offers fans a new way to explore the Neath, chasing grand ambitions as a group of Londoners.

The Kickstarter campaign features five tiers of backer rewards, including the core book, a deluxe edition core book, dice packs, limited edition art prints, and a Guide to London supplement. The game uses the new Ædana System™, a game engine from Magpie Games’ award-winning design team.

Fallen London: The Roleplaying Game marks the first appearance of the Ædana System™, a new game engine from Magpie Games’ award-winning design team. The Ædana System features a core dice pool mechanic that focuses on fast, nuanced resolution for challenges. During play, players and GMs can also expand a challenge into one of many intricate conflict systems, diving deeply into full-fledged contests with surprising outcomes.

Fans can download a free quickstart featuring pregenerated characters, a short version of the rules, and an original venture titled “The Disappearance of the Transfigured Poet” by visiting www.magpiegames.com/fallenquickstart. An actual play video is also available on YouTube and the Kickstarter page.
