The contributors, who come from various fields such as games, law, finance, HR, venture capital, and emerging tech, will help build sustainable and investable studios, making it clear that this is not a mere diversity initiative but the future of game development infrastructure.
Aurora is backed by a global ecosystem, with contributors and investors from different continents, creating real-world opportunities for underrepresented founders. Shred Capital, a Canadian early-stage venture capital firm, has opened its pitch panel sessions to Aurora participants and is contributing to the Business Development curriculum. Legal Partner Lee & Thompson LLP supports studios with legal tools they need to scale sustainably through workshops, direct mentorship, and a foundational module on Key Legal Considerations for Game Studios.
The contributors include Dhosjan Greenaway-Dalini, Founder and CEO at Bia Innovate, who shares her expertise on financial literacy, due diligence, and talking to non-game investors. Julian Ward and Lois Child from Lee & Thompson deliver legal fundamentals across IP, contracts, and publishing. Dana Ramnarine, COO at Rhum.HR, leads a boutique recruitment, human resources, and leadership development consultancy supporting creative teams in games, VFX, animation, and tech around the globe.
Aurora, backed by the British Film Institute (BFI) and National Lottery funding, offers a dual-track model: business education and active deal support via an in-house agency, a cohort of up to six studios at a time, direct mentorship from contributors and industry partners, and a pipeline of real-world partnerships with publishers, platforms, and global investors. The accelerator operates on a rolling admissions basis, with the next cohort scheduled for Q4 2025. Studios must be UK-registered and demonstrate at least 50% marginalized gender leadership. Code Coven has supported over 1000 creators across 35 countries since 2020.
