The game offers a range of features, including the ability to adjust the playstyle by controlling the accuracy of ball throws, using pins for powerful melee attacks or piercing throws, and unlocking achievements and ball colors by performing well or poorly. The game also supports controller vibrations for a more immersive experience.

BOWLOUT is developed by Quint Winter and Sep Horsthuis, who both have experience in various aspects of game development. Quint is primarily a texture artist who created the 3D assets and audio for the game, while Sep is a game/software developer who handled game-programming, design, UI/UX, animations, and other tasks outside of pure game development.

In BOWLOUT, players can switch between frantically throwing bowling balls in large groups of pins, throwing precise bursts at singular pins, grabbing a pin to perform a powerful melee attack or throwing said pin through multiple targets. The game's final boss area is set in a different location and aesthetic from the rest of the game.

Overall, BOWLOUT offers a unique and wacky take on the traditional bowling game, providing players with an over-the-top experience that is both fun and challenging.
