The beekeeping simulation game, APICO, is getting a final free update, 4.0: A Hive of Industry, which includes a new automation system, seasonal events, craftable materials, and pets. To accompany this update, the game's composer, Mothense, has released a new original soundtrack, APICO Bee-parture, which features 11 new chill tunes. The game, which combines resource gathering, biology, and minigames, teaches players about beekeeping and the importance of pollinators.

APICO allows players to cross-breed bees and other pollinators, grow flowers, make and sell honey and other beekeeping products, and repopulate lost species. The game features unique crafting and beekeeping minigames, multiple biomes, and a relaxing soundtrack. It is available on PC via Steam, Epic Game Store, Humble Games, itch.io, Utomik, PlayStation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One and Series S|X for $19.99 USD.

APICO Update 4.0: A Hive of Industry will be available for free on PC and Nintendo Switch on May 20, 2024. The APICO Bee-parture OST is now available on Steam and other music platforms. The game's developers are committed to bee conservation, with a portion of the game's profits going towards this cause. Follow APICO on social media for updates, and keep up with Whitethorn Games on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitch for more information.
