Albion Online, a fantasy sandbox MMORPG developed by Sandbox Interactive, has released its latest major content update, titled "Abyssal Depths." This update introduces a new PvP mode in the Depths, an extraction-style dungeon where players compete for loot without risking their equipment. The new Antiquarian's Den serves as a hub for instanced PvP, offering improved matchmaking and fairer fights.

Two new hellish spider mounts can be earned through the Antiquarian Rewards system, and the game's new player experience has been improved with an enhanced tutorial, clearer goals, and rewards. A new Albion Journal Category, Character Progression, encourages long-term achievements with prestigious rewards. The update also features new Crystal Weapons, the Truebolt Hammer and Stillgaze Staff, as well as quality-of-life improvements such as refined item categorization and a condensed HUD tracker.

From July 5 to August 2, Albion Online is hosting The Crucible, an invitational contest featuring over 100 top streamers from around the world. Streamers will form their own guilds and compete for points based on their in-game activities over a four-week period. The top 20 will receive prizes worth over $50,000 and 10,000 Twitch subscriptions, and the overall winner will receive a genuine Galatine Pair inspired by the weapon in Albion Online, crafted by the forgemasters at Man at Arms.
