Pc Games Indie Game Strategy Early AccessDaedalic Entertainment and developer Billionwords have announced a significant content update for the turn-based strategy game Yield! Fall of Rome. The "Multiplayer Mayhem & More" update brings major enhancements to multiplayer gameplay, new buildings and wonders, improved mechanics, and expanded strategic options. This update coincides with Yield! Fall of Rome being featured in Steam's Turn-Based Thursday Fest and offered at a 50% discount.
The multiplayer updates include two new lobby types: Live Lobbies, which are public real-time lobbies, and Asynchronous Lobbies, which allow for more flexible matchmaking. Players can now add AI opponents to both live and asynchronous games, and cooperative play against AI teams is possible. Technical improvements include a more efficient network protocol, improved synchronization speed, and in-game chat for all multiplayer sessions.
The update also introduces new and rebalanced buildings, such as the Barracks, Corn Silo, and rebalanced Level 1 Throne, as well as new National Wonders like the Wild Boar, Woolmill, and Stonework. These additions aim to enhance early and mid-game strategies and provide new strategic late-game structures.
Additional improvements include completing all policy milestones awarding a Crown, new unit skills, adjustments to Raid and Siege skills, and scouts gaining experience from exploring huts. The Palace building income has slightly increased, and Lumberhuts now cost 3 gold.
Many unit types, particularly navy, scouts, and civilian units, have received a balance and progression update, further diversifying strategic options. Yield! Fall of Rome is currently featured in Steam's Turn-Based Thursday Fest and available at a 50% discount, making it an ideal time to join the battle for Europe.
