X-Out: Resurfaced - A Classic Shoot 'Em Up Returns in 2025

The classic shoot 'em up game, X-Out, which was popular in the Amiga era of the 1990s, is being remade and will be available on modern platforms. X-Out: Resurfaced is being developed by ININ, Kritzelkratz 3000, and Ziggurat, and will be released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Steam on February 20th, 2025. The game is now available for digital pre-order on Nintendo eStore and PlayStation Store at €19,99.

X-Out was known for its ominous underwater worlds, synth-laden soundtrack, and innovative shop system. The remake, X-Out: Resurfaced, will feature the same elements but with improved graphics, new particle and lighting effects, and a new 2-player co-op mode. The game will also include a "Mirror Mode" for experienced players.

To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the original game, ININ has prepared a physical Special Edition of X-Out: Resurfaced, which includes a physical game for Nintendo Switch or Sony PlayStation 5, original soundtrack composed and remixed by Chris Hülsbeck on CD, a colorful history artbook, and helpful in-depth tips about the ships and weapons. The Special Edition is available for pre-order exclusively on ININgames.com for €49.99.
