Wretch: Divine Ascent Coming to PC, Debuts at BitSummit 2025

The game developer, Ogopogo, in partnership with SapStaR Games, has announced that their tactical auto-battler game, Wretch: Divine Ascent, will be released for PC in October 2025. The game, which has been inspired by games like Backpack Battles and Souls-like, combines deep inventory strategy with high-stakes asynchronous PvP duels in a dark fantasy world.

Wretch: Divine Ascent features strategic backpack management, where players can purchase attacks to chain together, load up on gear, items, and accessories, and take advantage of combinable equipment to unlock devastating effects. The game offers five unique characters, each with their own playstyles, attack chains, and item affinities. Players can choose to embody an indomitable wall of steel as the Knight, dispatch their foes with deadly grace as the Ronin, or overwhelm all comers with a flurry of blades as the Assassin.

Wretch: Divine Ascent offers asynchronous 1v1 duels, where players can test their build against those of real players from around the world. The game features a Zenith Arena, where players can encounter the deadliest players and most formidable builds of all.

The game's demo is currently available on Steam with language support for English and Japanese. A new demo will be available in time for Steam Next Fest this October. Ogopogo is an indie development team based in Shenzhen, while SapStaR Games is a publishing team founded in 2023, specializing in full-cycle support for small and mid-sized studios.
