Digital Extremes, the developer of the popular sci-fi action game Warframe, has announced the release date for the game's next narrative chapter, Warframe: 1999. The update will be available on all platforms starting on December 13, 2024. The new narrative chapter will feature a single-player Quest set in an alternate version of 1999, where players must defend the city of Höllvania against two new enemy factions. The update will also introduce the 59th Warframe, Cyte-09, as well as new mission types, weapons, and a relationship and romance system.

In addition to the new narrative chapter, Warframe is also collaborating with the game Balatro, with customizable cards featuring Warframe's iconic characters available now. The update will also bring various quality of life improvements, new cosmetics, and the addition of new items to the TennoGen community artist program.

Warframe: 1999's soundtrack will be available on streaming platforms and as a physical LP for sale on the Warframe Merch Store. The update brings a host of new features and content for players to explore, making it the most ambitious addition to the game yet.

Warframe is a free-to-play sci-fi epic with over 80+ million registered players across multiple console and mobile platforms. The game has been successful since its debut in 2013 and has led to the creation of TennoCon, an annual event where thousands of fans gather to discover the future of the game. Digital Extremes, the developer of Warframe, is currently working on its new IP, Soulframe.
