Paradox Interactive has announced a new expansion pack for its grand strategy simulation game, Victoria 3. The expansion, titled "Sphere of Influence," will be available for purchase on May 6, 2024, for a suggested retail price of $29.99/€29.99/£24.99.

The expansion introduces Power Blocs, a new diplomatic feature that allows players to build alliances with other nations to pursue common economic or ideological goals. Players can bully, bribe, or befriend other nations to create a Power Bloc, with smaller nations seeking security in cooperative compacts with greater powers.

Sphere of Influence also features historical content dedicated to the Great Game, the nineteenth-century competition between the British and Russian Empires for influence and power in Central and South Asia. The expansion includes new events, journal entries, and decisions inspired by this rivalry, as well as a new objective and a redrawn map highlighting the competing interests in this frontier between empires.

Other features of the expansion include foreign investment, nationalization, subject interactions, interest group lobbies, Power Bloc monuments, and new historical flavor, such as new characters, companies, events, journal entries, and clothing.

In addition to the expansion pack, Paradox Interactive has also released the Trains Bonus Content Pack, a free pack for download by anyone who owns Victoria 3. The pack includes ten new 3D models of trains players can see carrying goods and passengers on the map.

Victoria 3: Sphere of Influence is available for pre-order now, and players who pre-order will receive a 10% discount. The expansion requires the base game, Victoria 3, to play.

Paradox Interactive is a leading developer and publisher of strategy and management games for PC and consoles, with a game portfolio that includes popular franchises such as Stellaris, Europa Universalis, Hearts of Iron, Crusader Kings, Cities: Skylines, Prison Architect, and the Surviving games.
