Pc Games Indie Game Early Access Free To PlayThe game Venusville, a space colonization city builder, has recently launched its first public demo on Steam. In this unique game, players guide settlers to construct a self-sufficient colony in the treacherous clouds of Venus. The demo, Alpha 1.7, includes several new features and improvements such as an overhaul of the gas system, expansion of the power system, updates to farming and food, building and UI improvements, and increased difficulty in colonist survival.
The gas system overhaul includes the ability to collect and manage nine gases, refine gases into various materials, and the Atmos Factory now requires specific gases for production. The power system expansion introduces new power producers, such as solar panels and Stirling engines, as well as power storage and consumption for buildings and machines. Farming and food updates include a redesigned growing pad, new crops, and a four-step growth cycle with full models.
Building and UI improvements include a new settings menu, iconized construction requirements, detailed panels showing input/output resources and colonist roles, demolition option for buildings and structures, and power and gas buildings grouped in the build menu. The colonist survival gets tougher as NPCs can now starve and beds and tables have been added. The demo also includes stability enhancements and UI polish.
The Venusville demo is now available on Steam and players are encouraged to try it out and share their feedback in the Steam discussions or the game's Discord community. The input from the players will help shape the future of this colony builder game.
