Steel Sword Story, a 2D side-scrolling action game, is getting an updated version called Steel Sword Story S on June 11, 2024. The new version will be available as a major update for existing owners and as a separate purchase on Steam. The update will include new features such as a Story Mode, balancing adjustments, and Steam-exclusive trading cards and badges. The game will also be on sale for one week with an 83% discount.

Steel Sword Story S will have new special moves, a larger map with new areas, bosses, enemies, and items. It will also include new story segments and a new difficulty level for players who want to enjoy the story without the action. The game will run at 60fps and the project data for the original game will still be available for Pixel Game Maker MV users.

The game follows a former Imperial Knight named Azul who is on a quest to save his kingdom from destruction after being betrayed by a traitor. The game features skilfully designed stages, well-balanced difficulty levels, and classic gameplay mechanics. The game's pixel art and cinematic music tracks add to the overall experience.

Steel Sword Story S will be priced at $9.99 after the update, but existing owners can purchase the SSSS x PGMMV Bundle or the PGMMV Side-Scroller Bundle now to get both versions of the game at a discounted price. The game is currently available in Japanese, English, and Simplified Chinese.
