Clear River Games, in partnership with City Connection, has announced the release of the classic arcade shooter, Under Defeat, for PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PC via Steam. The game is set in an alternate history where all-out war has broken out, and players control a heavily armed helicopter, battling enemies in a semi-isometric playfield.

Under Defeat was originally released in 2005 and gained popularity due to its high-octane gameplay and explosive 3D graphics. The new release includes three game modes: Arcade Mode, which replicates the original arcade experience; New Order Mode, which adapts the game for modern displays; and New Order Mode+, which adds a risk/reward mechanic.

The game features an incredible soundtrack by Shinji Hosoe and his company, Super Sweep. It will be available physically on PS5 and Nintendo Switch and digitally on PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and Steam. City Connection, known for their high-quality ports of classic games, developed the new release under the supervision of Takehiro Eda and Zerodiv Fukushima Factory.
