Kwalee, a leading UK-based games publisher, and Hyperstrange, an independent Polish developer, have announced the release of a demo for the upcoming 3D action game Hordes of Hunger. The demo, which includes a playtest and feedback questionnaire, will be available on Steam starting October 11th, 2024. The game has also released a new gameplay trailer, showcasing its new ability trees, animations, biomes, and advancements, as well as its crafting, cooking, and permanent upgrade systems.

Hordes of Hunger is a roguelite arena-slasher that combines third-person, 3D hack'n slash gameplay with high production values and an evolving narrative in the Survivorslike genre. Players take on the role of Mirah, who fights against ever-intensifying waves of monsters to save her homeland from the Beast and its ravenous hordes. The game features a range of weapons and special attacks, destructive and defensive abilities, and the ability to complete missions to save others from the invasion and uncover the true nature of the curse that plagues Mirah’s homeland.

Kwalee, founded by games industry icon David Darling CBE, is a multi-award-winning games publisher and developer with studios in the UK, India, Portugal, and China. Hyperstrange, based in Warsaw, Poland, has developed a number of critically-acclaimed titles, including Postal: Brain Damaged, Elderborn, and Blood West. Hordes of Hunger is their latest game and their first collaboration with Kwalee.

Hordes of Hunger is set to release on PC via Steam in 2024. Players can watch the gameplay trailer, download the demo, and wishlist the game on Steam.
