Pc Games Early Access Indie Game Role Playing Game Strategy Microsoft Xbox Sony PlaystationToy Tactics, an innovative real-time strategy (RTS) game developed by Kraken Empire and published by Joystick Ventures, is set to exit Steam Early Access on September 19, 2024, introducing online multiplayer for both competitive 1v1 and cooperative gameplay. The game offers an accessible RTS experience, allowing players to command units and split forces into battalions by drawing directly onto the battlefield using a mouse cursor or joystick.
Toy Tactics is aimed at aspiring generals of all kinds, featuring a family-friendly E for Everyone rating by the ESRB. The game features minifigures engaging in battles with wacky physics effects and a blend of humor and epic style. Players assume the role of a general in Erebus, an afterlife where minifigure versions of great warriors from history engage in eternal combat. Players can command Roman legions, Samurai warriors, and raptor-riding skeletons, utilizing powerful spells and artifacts to influence the tide of battle.
To celebrate the full release, Toy Tactics will host a multiplayer beta competition for PC players, with details to be revealed on August 26 via the official Discord and Steam. Kraken Empire is a Spain-based development studio with over a decade of experience in game creation, while Joystick Ventures is a California-based investing and publishing company that supports indie developers in exploring new frontiers in game design.
Toy Tactics aims to make the RTS genre accessible to a wider audience, offering a unique drawing mechanic for strategy implementation. The game's whimsical art style and diverse unit selection create an engaging and entertaining experience for players of all ages.
