Tour de France 2024 Unveils Exciting Multiplayer Criterium Mode

The latest installment in the Tour de France video game series, Tour de France 2024, has announced the addition of a multiplayer mode called Criterium. This new feature allows up to six players, each controlling two cyclists, to compete against each other in a stage. The rules are simple: the first player to cross the finish line wins the race.

In the Criterium mode, each player controls a team of two riders: a leader and a team-mate. Players can choose from four types of teams: flat, hill, mountain, and versatile. The game randomly selects a stage, distance, and team type for each race, as well as changing various settings to create a variety of situations. These settings include the presence or absence of a team-mate and the ability to take a feed.

Tour de France 2024 is being developed by Cyanide Studio and published by NACON. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, and PC (Steam) on June 6, 2024. Cyanide Studio is a French video game development studio known for its sports games, such as the Pro Cycling Manager series and the console version of Tour de France. The studio also developed Blood Bowl, Game of Thrones, Styx: Master of Shadows, Styx: Shards of Darkness, and Call of Cthulhu. NACON, one of Europe's leading video game publishers, holds a 100% stake in the company.
