Feral Interactive has recently released a significant update for Total War: MEDIEVAL II on iOS and Android, named "Hotseats & Halberds". This update offers a variety of new features, including asynchronous multiplayer campaigns on a single device, comprehensive balance improvements, and additional polish.

The Hotseat multiplayer mode allows each player to choose a campaign faction and take turns making strategic moves by passing the device. This feature was previously exclusive to the Kingdoms expansion on desktop but is now available in the Grand Campaign for mobile users. Co-op and Battle Royale modes have also been added, offering new ways to compete.

The Halberds side of the update introduces rebalancing changes for late-era units, increasing their power in battles and resulting in more dynamic and memorable clashes. These changes are based on player feedback since the mobile release of MEDIEVAL II.
