Top Mobile Games Boost Revenue with Innovative Updates in January 2025

GameRefinery, a Liftoff company, has released its monthly review of the mobile games market for January 2025. The report highlights the biggest updates and trends in the mobile gaming industry across the US, China, and Japan.

In the US, romance simulation game Love and Deepspace reached the top 10 grossing ranks on the iOS market following its first-anniversary content update. The update featured a gacha system for obtaining memories of passionate scenes with love interests and a chibi side mode with minigames.

Pokemon TCG Pocket introduced new trading mechanics, causing controversy due to restrictions and the use of a new currency called Trade Tokens. Despite the backlash, the game saw a 4000% increase in daily revenue on the US iOS market after launching Diamond and Pearl booster packs.

Summoners War, an MMORPG, collaborated with the anime Demon Slayer, resulting in significant daily revenue spikes in the US (1600%+) and Japanese (650%+) iOS markets. The event featured IAP offers, premium gacha, and gameplay elements, allowing players to try out new Demon Slayer characters.

Hay Day, a relaxing farming simulator, launched its first-ever collaboration event with celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. Themed around being "zen," the event included visiting Gordon's farm for daily free gifts and was split into four parts.

Call of Duty: Mobile introduced the Cache Tracker, a new reward system that allows players to progress toward exclusive rewards across multiple seasons. Players can obtain "Secret Caches" from daily challenges and special events to unlock new weapons.
