Paintbucket Games, an independent game studio based in Berlin, Germany, has announced a Kickstarter campaign for its upcoming project, "The Darkest Files." The historical true crime investigation game is set in the Noir era of post-World War II and is inspired by the efforts of Frankfurt Attorney General Fritz Bauer. Players will assume the role of young prosecutor Esther Katz, who is determined to uncover the truth about the dark past and ensure it does not shape the future.

"The Darkest Files" has already won the "Most Promising Game" and "Most Anticipated Game" Awards at Indie Cup Germany 2023.
