The awards show, taking place on August 15, will celebrate the game's vibrant community and its creators, with categories including the Sky Community Award and Content of the Year Award. Winners will have the opportunity to accept their trophies and address the live audience.
The Sky Creator Awards are part of the game's sixth anniversary celebration, which includes transforming Aviary Village into a lively playground with swimming, dancing, and parading areas. A 24/7 stream of programming will be available at the cinema, featuring behind-the-scenes footage, developer messages, trivia, and a 6-year retrospective.
Sky: Children of the Light, a free-to-play iOS game, has received critical and commercial success since its release in 2019, earning Apple’s iPhone Game of the Year award, ‘Best Mobile Game’ and ‘Audience Award’ at the 2020 Game Developers Choice Awards, and ‘Mobile Game of the Year’ at the 2020 SXSW Gaming Awards. The game has expanded to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam, reaching 270 million downloads as of 2025.
