System Shock Remake Coming to Consoles on May 21, 2024: New Features and Trailer Revealed

The System Shock remake, an updated version of the classic 1994 sci-fi action game, is coming to PlayStation 4|5 and Xbox One and Series X|S on May 21, 2024. The remake, which was released on PC in 2023, features an expanded ending, a new female hacker protagonist, and various improvements.

The System Shock remake combines the gameplay of the original title with HD visuals, updated controls, an overhauled interface, and new sounds and music. The console release features a newly reworked ending and the option to choose between a male or female-presenting Hacker protagonist. The game will be available in both physical and digital formats on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and in digital format only on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The remake has been developed by Nightdive Studios, which has created a faithful recreation of the classic shooter/immersive sim. Players will explore the dark depths of Citadel Station and face perilous traps, puzzles, and a legion of hostile and mutated creatures, all while trying to save Earth from destruction.

The new trailer for the console release showcases the game's updated visuals and gameplay. Players can expect up to 4K 60FPS visuals on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

PLAION, a publisher of console and PC games, is publishing the System Shock remake on consoles. PLAION is an Embracer Group company and has been established in the entertainment industry for nearly three decades. The company offers a range of services and solutions for physical and digital channels, as well as a strong foothold in the Virtual Reality (VR) domain.
