Joystick Ventures, the organizer of The Game Awards for Games Who Can't Afford the Game Awards (TGAGWCAGA), has announced a new event to showcase indie games. The SUGOI Showcase is designed to highlight games that are "ridiculously awesome," with unique angles, unconventional approaches, or just plain oddity. The showcase is open to developers with a limited marketing budget and is free to submit and participate.

The SUGOI Showcase is inspired by the success of TGAGWCAGA, which was organized by Joystick Ventures and Pengonauts Studio to promote their own game StarVaders. The event received an overwhelming response, with more than 600 game submissions. The organizers aim to carry forward the warmth and positivity generated by the gaming community during TGAGWCAGA into the new year.

Developers with games that fit the bill can submit their titles through February 20. The showcase will premiere on YouTube, and a Steam page will highlight the 35 indie games selected. The digital event will air on the official SUGOI Media YouTube channel on Thursday, March 27.

Joystick Ventures is a California-based investing and publishing company that encourages indie developers to stay honest and promote experimentation to push the limits of game design. They are known for their 2022 release, Lost in Play, which has sold more than 200,000 copies.

The SUGOI Showcase is an excellent opportunity for indie developers to showcase their talents and gain exposure for their games. The event aims to provide a platform for games that might not have been seen otherwise, and with the success of TGAGWCAGA, it is expected to receive a positive response from the gaming community.
