Pc Games Indie Game Role Playing Game Strategy Early AccessOn August 23rd, 2024, Hybrid Fiction Games announced their debut game, Stratagem Lost, a turn-based strategy RPG and visual novel hybrid with a punk fantasy aesthetic. The game is set in a world left broken and paranoid after war and follows a group of drafted soldiers discovering a dark mystery while confronting terrorists and otherworldly entities.
Stratagem Lost focuses on unique characters and team-building, with aggressive and dynamic gameplay that stands out with its eclectic, over-the-top attitude. The game's style is inspired by art movements like dadaism and pop art, as well as alternative rock and nu metal music genres. Vibrant, expressionist illustrations and comic book-style battles emphasize the characters' strong personalities.
Off-Time Segments are intermissions between battles, allowing players to converse with allies, unlock new skills, and make choices that connect their combat tools to their knowledge of the units. The game features voice acting from professionals such as Amanda Hufford, Joshua Waters, and Allanah Fitzgerald. The hard rock soundtrack is composed by dante gofar, known for his work in AD: Trance and UNBEATABLE [white label].
Stratagem Lost is listed as "Coming Soon" on Steam, with a demo planned for release on October 14th, 2024. Follow Hybrid Fiction Games on X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and Facebook, and join the official Discord to stay updated.
