Sony Pictures Virtual Reality (SPVR) and XR Games have announced the release of Starship Troopers: Continuum, a new virtual reality game set in the Starship Troopers universe. The game will be available on Meta Quest 2 and 3 on October 17, 2024, and on PlayStation VR2 on October 31, 2024. Players can pre-order the game on the Meta Horizon Store.

Starship Troopers: Continuum is set 25 years after the Battle of Klendathu and follows the character Johnny Rico, voiced by Casper Van Dien. Players will assume the role of a PsyCommander, a soldier with advanced psychic powers, and will be able to control and rank up troops, promoting them to citizenship for bonuses and advancing their own powers.

The game will feature 3-player online squad-based combat, over 20 weapons, and classic bugs as well as new enemies. There will also be boss battles and epic missions in both familiar and unexplored terrain.

XR Games and SPVR have previously worked together on other VR games, including Zombieland: Headshot Fever and Spider-Man: Homecoming VR.

In addition to Starship Troopers: Continuum, the Starship Troopers franchise will also be coming to consoles and PC with the release of Starship Troopers: Extermination on October 11, 2024.

XR Games is an award-winning virtual reality game development studio based in Leeds, UK, while SPVR is the virtual reality division of Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Starship Troopers: Continuum promises to bring the energy and action of the Starship Troopers universe to VR for the first time, allowing players to fully immerse themselves in the world of Starship Troopers.
