Stainless Games Announces New CEO: Ben Gunstone Takes the Helm

Pc Games Indie GameStainless Games Ltd., a renowned independent game developer, has appointed Ben Gunstone as its new Chief Executive Officer, succeeding the company's founder, Patrick Buckland, who will transition into the role of Executive Chairman. Buckland, with over 40 years of experience in the gaming industry, will continue to provide strategic guidance and mentorship to Ben and the leadership team.
Ben Gunstone, with a lifetime of industry experience, began his career at Nintendo and has since worked with SEGA, Dovetail Games, and GlobalStep. He has spent nearly 20 years at Stainless Games, most recently as Operations Director. Under Ben's leadership, Stainless Games will continue to deliver outstanding gaming experiences, develop and expand its portfolio of original titles, and strengthen co-development partnerships with AAA and AA development studios.
Stainless Games, founded in 1994, has a rich heritage of delivering high-quality, innovative titles across various platforms. The studio is best known for its iconic work on the Carmageddon and Magic: The Gathering series and has contributed to some of the biggest franchises in the industry through its trusted co-development services.
Patrick Buckland, the company's founder, has received several awards for his contributions to the gaming industry, including the King's Award for international trade and the TIGA Award for Outstanding Individual of the Year 2024. Matt Edmunds will continue in his role as COO, ensuring the studio's continued success.
This new leadership marks an exciting evolution in the studio's growth and ambitions, building on its legacy of delivering high-quality, innovative titles across various platforms.
