Square Enix Backs BetaDwarf's Vaultbreakers: Join the July Playtest Now

BetaDwarf, the Danish game development studio behind "Forced" and "Minion Masters," has announced a new investment from Square Enix to support the development of their upcoming project, "Vaultbreakers." The investment signifies growing interest in high-concept multiplayer games that emphasize cooperation, skill, and dynamic gameplay.
"Vaultbreakers" is a top-down action RPG with heroic brawler combat, a dynamic world, and relic reclamation. Players can explore the game world solo or with friends in PvE and PvPvE modes. The game has already conducted multiple playtests with over 50,000 players, using community feedback to refine its development roadmap.
The Square Enix investment will help BetaDwarf improve production capabilities and community-driven development. BetaDwarf's CEO, Steffen Kabbelgaard, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating that it provides access to valuable resources and knowledge to help realize the team's dream.
In conjunction with the investment news, BetaDwarf released the first full gameplay trailer and announced a weeklong public playtest, running from July 3rd to July 9th. The studio has also fast-tracked two of the most requested features: a Solo Queue and PvE mode. The Solo Queue is now available, while the PvE-only mode will be added in the coming months.
The playtest highlights include an evolving haven, activable items, expanded perk options, and more unpredictable enemies. Players can obtain a playtest key by visiting the "Vaultbreakers" website or through Twitch Drops Campaign on Twitch.
BetaDwarf, founded in 2012, has published several successful games, including "Forced," "Forced: Showdown," and "Minion Masters," which has been downloaded over 4 million times on Steam. The studio aims to push the boundaries of cooperative games to create lasting friendships worldwide.
