Gaming Staff • September 17, 2024
Indie Game Early Access Free To Play Role Playing GameIn the upcoming sport-themed first-person shooter game, SPORTAL, players will enter a portal and find themselves in a 1950s America, where vintage sports gear becomes deadly weapons. Developed by Sleepwalking Potatoes and published by Retrovibe, SPORTAL combines fast-paced FPS mechanics with sports action, challenging players to strike, launch, and slam various balls into hordes of classic movie monsters.
As players progress through the game's numerous movie-themed settings, they can collect powerful upgrades to refine their monster-smashing arsenal. Each piece of gear is a weapon, from spiked baseballs to explosive golf balls, lightning-infused hockey pucks, and razor wire bowling balls. Players must fight their way back home while uncovering the mystery of their surreal situation and discovering clues as to why a trip to the cinema turned into a portal-jumping, monster-fighting adventure.
SPORTAL features a range of weapons, outfits, and perks to help players face even tougher challenges. Players can unlock new gear and perks as they attempt to survive the onslaught of monstrous creatures.
Sleepwalking Potatoes is an independent game development studio founded by two friends with nearly 20 years of combined experience in game development. Retrovibe is a publisher that aims to deliver new indie games with a retro heart, established in 2021 by a group of experienced games industry professionals.
SPORTAL is set to be released in the near future, and players can wishlist the game on Steam and follow Sleepwalking Potatoes and Retrovibe on Twitter for the latest updates.
