Spectral Scream Shines in Horror Co-op VR Games

The Horror Survival Co-op genre, also known as the Horror Party genre, is a popular category of virtual reality (VR) games that emphasize multiplayer gameplay, cooperation, and betrayal to overcome frightening challenges. Recent VR hits in this genre include Phasmophobia and Lethal Company, which offer brief, replayable gameplay experiences that keep players engaged.

Spectral Scream is a new addition to this genre, developed by STOIC Entertainment. The game features themed stages with highly interactive objects and colorful non-player characters (NPCs), as well as various types of monsters to defeat and exorcise, such as demons, the undead, and ghosts. The unique monster types require players to come up with different strategies to win each stage, adding to the game's replayability.

Hong-seok Kim, CEO of STOIC Entertainment, expressed his excitement and honor at the attention Spectral Scream has received, stating that it is a sign that players prioritize gameplay and exciting content over brand values. STOIC Entertainment was the first Korean VR developer to launch successfully on the Meta Quest Store in December 2022 and is preparing to launch another title, Tank Arena: Ultimate League, on May 23rd of this year for the Meta Quest Store.

The popularity of the Horror Survival Co-op genre and games like Spectral Scream demonstrates the appeal of VR experiences that prioritize immersive gameplay and interactive content. With the upcoming release of Tank Arena: Ultimate League, STOIC Entertainment continues to contribute to the growth and diversity of the VR gaming industry.
