Space Engineers: New PvE Encounters, Prototech, and Cosmetic DLC

The release of Space Engineers on the Xbox and Windows Store is underway, with the announcement of the release date to be made soon. This update introduces new blocks that will add advanced capabilities to endgame builds, enhancing creativity and gameplay strategies.

The update features PvE Encounters, which can be experienced in new worlds and offer a variety of loot, including story elements and valuable Prototech components. Players can customize the density and global encounter cap or disable them entirely in the world settings.

Planetary Encounters bring new life to the planets of Space Engineers, with small research outposts to formidable pirate strongholds. Global Encounters are a new type of space-based PvE content, offering challenging end-game NPCs, unique environments, and high-end loot, which are the primary source for acquiring Prototech.

Prototech is a new type of block, found in new "Global Encounters," and is a powerful, "end-game" technology created by the secretive Factorum faction. These blocks cannot be reverse engineered, and players must extract them intact and then add them to existing grids using merge blocks.

The update also includes a DLC pack with cosmetic items that enrich the game visually, with no advantage to players who purchase this DLC. To experience the PvE Encounters as intended, players will need to start a new world, as they are enabled by default for any new world created.
