Digital Extremes, the developer of the popular game Warframe, has revealed some exciting features that players can expect in the pre-alpha version of its upcoming game, Soulframe. The reveals were made in a recent Devstream for Soulframe Preludes, which is set to be released in December 2024.

Some of the features that players can look forward to include companion summoning, the first player social hub known as Silent Rose Cave, and new environmental hazards and challenges. The social hub will allow players to connect with NPCs, accept new side quests, and meet other players to party up with before the next adventure.

The Devstream also featured a short teaser trailer for things to come in 2025, including public access to Preludes, a new Omen Beast, fresh environments to explore, and the much-anticipated rideable wolf mount.

Geoff Crookes, Creative Director at Digital Extremes, emphasized the importance of community feedback in shaping the game's development. He noted that feedback from the community has been instrumental in making combat and social features major focuses in the current pre-alpha stage.

Other updates coming to Preludes in December include quality of life improvements based on community feedback, such as reworks to the combat tree UI and potion system.

Soulframe is an upcoming free-to-play open-world fantasy adventure that promises a personal journey of discovery through a handcrafted world. Players can sign up on the official game website for a chance to play an early test build of the game.

Digital Extremes is a renowned video game development studio that has co-created popular franchises such as Unreal and BioShock. The studio is known for its proprietary Evolution Engine and the free-to-play action game Warframe, which has a global community of over 80 million registered players.
