Pc Games Indie Game Early Access

Polyaris is a single-player, first-person survival skiing game set in a post-nuclear, procedurally generated Arctic world, planned for PC release in Q1 2025. The game has recently made significant progress in development, with new features added and existing ones improved.

New features include a boat mechanic that allows players to navigate the icy Arctic ocean, inspired by The Long Drive. Swimming has also been introduced as a backup option for when players accidentally fall into the water, with debuffs due to freezing temperatures adding an extra challenge. Fishing has been added to the game, allowing players to catch their food in the ocean instead of just scavenging.

Improvements have been made to the game's audio experience, with new character and footstep sounds added to make the world feel more alive. Basic support for Xbox controllers has been implemented, and the team is working on full compatibility with the Steam Deck.

The release of the closed demo, originally planned for mid-August, has been delayed to allow for more polishing and testing. The Polyaris team is grateful for the support of its community, having reached 11,000 wishlists on Steam. The team will be taking a short summer break before returning to finalize the first closed test and prepare for the open demo.
